Oldbury Home wins 2025 HIA WA Project Home of the Year
Fourth consecutive win for The Rural Building Co.
The Rural Building Co.’s Oldbury custom home has been named Project Home of the Year at the 2025 HIA Western Australian Housing Awards, marking the fourth consecutive year the company has received this accolade. Earlier in the year, Oldbury also achieved outstanding results at the HIA Truecore steel Perth Housing Awards, winning Project Home Over $650,000, Project Home of the Year, and securing a finalist position for Home of the Year.
Nestled in the scenic Oldbury region of Western Australia, this bespoke home effortlessly blends country charm with contemporary practicality. As you approach the house, you are greeted by custom cladding and corrugated steel, establishing a uniquely Australian look.
Inside the vaulted entryway, the space opens into the spacious living and kitchen area. High ceilings and featured gabled windows allow natural light to flood in, framing expansive sky views, while double sliding doors lead directly onto the verandah and outdoor dining area. The contemporary kitchen is designed with both comfort and practicality in mind. The scullery conceals the walk-in pantry and fridge, ensuring the central kitchen remains tidy and uncluttered. Adjacent to the scullery, the laundry offers ample storage, with a large walk-in linen cupboard and external access for convenience.
Every detail of the Oldbury home reflects comfortable, functional living with a distinct Australian style.
Now a finalist for the 2026 HIA Australian Project Home, the property continues to exemplify Rural Building Co.’s excellence in craftsmanship and design.
