Our Heritage

For nearly three decades, The Rural Building Company has been helping people build a country-inspired home – whether they’re building in the country, on the coast or in a more urban setting.

Over the years The Rural Building Company has built more than 6,000 homes for Western Australians, cementing its reputation as the home builder of choice in regional WA.

Where it all began

The Rural Building Company is established by Julian Walter at the beginning of the ‘tree change’ movement, when a growing number of people turned their backs on the city and moved to the country. The company’s philosophy is founded on a deep understanding of what people need – and want – when they’re building in regional Western Australia.
