In typical 'country style', the Meadow View makes you feel at home the moment you step inside. It also makes you immediately aware of its obvious break from tradition.
At the front of the home, beneath the red corrugated roof, you'll notice there are no gutters. Rough bush poles support a wide, shady verandah and an optional timber decking runs the full length.
As you step through the double fully glazed entry doors of the Meadow View you'll find no family room, no formal dining room or separate lounge.
Instead, the Meadow View features a huge, open plan area dominated by a full-length glass wall and high, vaulted barn ceiling.
This is a spectacular room that can be furnished in any way you desire - formally, informal, or a combination of the two. Rich timber flooring has been used and a wood-fired heater adds a cosy touch.
The modern galley-style kitchen, which is located to the rear left of this expansive open area, boasts an abundance of shelf and bench space and its layout makes food preparation a delight as you take in the panoramic views. There's also a big storage pantry and the appliances and overhead range hood are all stainless steel.
The Meadow View is a home that is infinitely livable for families with children or, alternatively, couples who love having friends stay over. To the right is the Master Suite with its large walk-in robe and beautifully appointed ensuite, and a room that can be used for an office or the parents special room.
At the other end of the house are two double-size bedrooms, both with built-in robes. The activity room is the perfect place for the children to escape, play, study or have friends around.
The home has been designed to be built in framed construction, on stumps or poles, reverse brick veneer or conventional double clay brick. Its shape allows it to run with the contours of a hill, minimising site costs.
The Meadow View is quite different from anything you've seen. Another good example that the Rural Building Company really does take an alternative approach to home design. |
